Kisasa Doll Blk SH Tall
£95.00
This distinctive doll, made with colourful beads and Cowrie shells, is a traditional doll from the Namji people of Cameroon. It is believed to enhance fertility and ensure an easy labour and childbirth.
It is often passed down to a young daughter who would treat it like a baby, carrying it on her back and playing with it whilst learning about childcare. It is also considered to be a good luck charm.
They make beautiful and interesting decorative ornaments and gifts.
The dolls are individually hand-made so no two are alike. They are not mass produced to perfection in factories but by individuals working from their homes using traditional methods. This results in a rustic product with quirks and variations that add to its authenticity.
